International conference in Poznan (2014)

On 19-21.Nov.2014 in Poznan there was held first out of three international conferences under project “New challenges for SIS users related to SIS II implementation” co-financed from Norway Grants (2009-2014).

The conference was led by Mr. Rafal Lysakowski, Director of International Police Co-operation Bureau of National Police Headquarters. On 19.Nov.2014 Mr. Lysakowski opened the conference officially.

The central themes of the conference were new categories of objects in SIS II.

During the conference the following topics were held:

  • changes in the SIS II dictionaries and statistics concerning new categories of objects,
  • Polish SIRENE Bureau experiences in respect of new categories of objects,
  • Member States experiences in search for stolen outboard engines,
  • Member States experiences in search for stolen vehicles and their repatriation on the example of Bulgaria,
  • transborder vehicles' crime including localization of lost/stolen vehicles by GPS/SIM on the example of Poland, Austria, Germany,
  • Rules of entering alerts from category: OBJECT,
  • experiences in automatic number plate recognition system ANPR on the example of Slovakia and Denmark,
  • problems concerning issuing of license plate duplicates on the example of Poland and Switzerland,
  • national procedures concerning national and foreign invalid documents alerts in SIS II.

Representatives of the following institutions were present:

  • International Police Co-operation Bureau of National Police Headquarters,
  • Criminal Service Bureau of National Police Headquarters,
  • field Police units,
  • Border Guard,
  • European Commission,
  • Member States.
     

In the conference 60 persons took part.


The next international conference will be held on 06-08.May.2015 in Wroclaw.

  • On 03-05.Sep.2014 in Poznan – concerning the quality of data entered to SIS in respect of their adjustment to SIS II requirements and matters related to the misused identity.
